The new Essie ‘Vintage Vanity’ Collection is a 6 piece collection of cremes and one shimmer nail polish. They are currently available only in the United States at Ulta Beauty, but hopefully they will be available in other countries soon. The Ulta website says that this collection is inspired by the “glamorous dressing rooms of old Hollywood starlets.” Keep reading for swatch photos or watch the video below for live swatches and comparisons.
Pretty in Pearls
‘Pretty in Pearls’ is a gorgeous “blush pink with neutral undertones.” This beauty is opaque in 2 easy coats that apply like butter. I compared this to a few other Essie pinks, so check out the video if you’re interested in comparisons.
Born to Adorn
Next up is ‘Born to Adorn,’ an antique yellow gold. It has a pearl-ish finish with shimmer and is opaque in 3 coats. This is my least fave from the collection. I’m not the biggest fan of yellow golds like this.
Unhidden Gem
‘Unhidden Gems’ is a “mauve plum with red undertones.” This beauty is opaque in 2 coats and is perfect for Fall. When I first saw this, I was sure it would be similar to Essie ‘Bold & Boulder,’ but ‘Bold & Boulder’ is darker.
Not so Naturale
‘Not so Naturale’ is one of my faves from this collection. This stunner is a “sage green with blue undertones.” Another easy two coater that is an absolute must have.
Primp & Powder
WOW!! My new fave purple!!! This is ‘Primp & Powder,’ a gorgeous pastel lilac. It was opaque in two easy coats and is another must have.
Vintage Vanity
‘Vintage Vanity,’ the namesake of this collection, is an amazing “deep burgundy creme.” This is opaque in 1-2 coats and is the perfect color to wear year round.
Final Thoughts?
What are your thoughts on the new Essie ‘Vintage Vanity’ Collection? I was definitely surprised when I saw this collection release. It was quite an unexpected color palette that I initially thought leaned more Fall. As I swatched them, though, I fell in love with the polishes and the colors. I definitely recommend picking these up. It may not seem like the most summery collection, but I definitely think these are perfect for different seasons.
