The new Essie Summer ‘Push Play’ Collection is a collection of six primary shades that will be perfect to add to your collection. These beauties are currently available at Beyond Polish and were sent to me compliments of Beyond Polish. Keep reading for swatch photos or watch the video for comparisons and live swatches.
Start Signs Only
‘Start Signs Only’ is a gorgeous “coral red with orange undertones.” This beauty is opaque in 2 easy coats and is a must have if you’re a fan of coral reds.
Grass Never Greener
‘Grass Never Greener’ is almost a one coat wonder. This green took me by surprise. It’s a “vibrant grassy green with blue undertones,” and is pretty unique to my collection.
Push Play
OOOOOOH!!!! I love this blue!!! ‘Push Play’ is a “rich cobalt blue with red undertones.” It’s sooooo good. This has more of a crelly formula, so it takes two coats for full opacity. Those two coats are so worth it.
Sunshine Be Mine
‘Sunshine Be Mine’ is a gorgeous “bright sunny yellow with white undertones.” This is the true, pure yellow you have been waiting for. Maybe you haven’t, but I have. Lol. It’s so nice!!
Climbing High
‘Climbing High’ looks black here, but it’s actually a “muted black,” aka gray. This was opaque in two coats. I would’ve liked for this to be opaque in one coat since it is almost black, but I was ok with it.
In My Sandbox
‘In My Sandbox’ is a “milky off white with pink undertones.” This polish did take three coats to be fully opaque, but they were three easy coats. I still feel like this is a must have if you don’t have any neutrals like this in your collection.
Final Thoughts?
What are your thoughts on the new Essie Summer ‘Push Play’ Collection? I really love the polishes individually. They are great basics to add to your collection. A more cohesive summer color palette would have been nice, but at some point it has to be difficult to come up with a unique palette of nail polish colors. Essie has so many polish colors that have been released. When does it become difficult to come up with something truly new?
