I’m so excited to finally be sharing 14 of the 20 polishes from the new Essie Plant-Based ‘Love by Essie’ Nail Polish line. I was able to pick these up online on Amazon. Six of the polishes are not currently available on Amazon, but I will keep my eye out so I can review once they’re available. These were released in the UK a few months ago, but I haven’t heard much about them. All of the polish names are super cute, fun and positive.
The Essie website says these are “80% plant-based, 8-free and vegan. It also says that no animal testing was done on these polishes.” The polishes are made from ingredients “derived from cotton, corn and sugarcane. Plant-based ingredients are processed & derived from renewable agricultural materials as an alternative to fossil fuels.” Another bonus is that the bottle is a 25% recycled glass bottle and the cap is made from 93% recycled plastic.

Self-Love Rush
‘Self-Love Rush’ is an absolutely stunning bright pink. My swatch does this beauty no justice. It’s so bright and fun, and a one coat wonder!
Get it Girl
‘Get it Girl’ is a gorgeous orchid pink, and is a must have. This is another one coat wonder that applies like butter! The Essie website says, “Get it Girl! You deserve a round of applause as you live life intentionally with this orchid pink with purple undertones.” It’s definitely one of my faves from this line!
Free in Me
Next up is ‘Free in Me,’ a beautiful, soft baby pink. This beauty was opaque in 2 easy coats. When I first swatched this, I thought of Essie ‘Young, Wild & Me.’ Check out my video to see how it compared.
Spinning in Joy
‘Spinning in Joy’ is the most perfect rose pink polish ever! This has a bit of a cool tone, and I think it’s the perfect tone of pink. The polish is a 1-2 coater that applies like butta!
Lust for Life
‘Lust for Life’ is the more orangey toned red from this line. This polish is a “saturated red with a burst of yellow undertones.” It’s a 1-2 coater that you need if you love orangey toned reds.
I Am the Spark
‘I Am the Spark’ is the cooler toned red. It’s a “ruby red with pink undertones,” and is an easy one coat wonder.
I Am the Moment
‘I Am the Moment’ is the red that I would describe as a more fall toned red. This is a beautiful wine inspired red. It’s opaque in 1-2 coats.
On the Brighter Side
‘On the Brighter Side’ is the most perfect pastel yellow ever. It does have the typical yellow formula, but it applies very easily. I needed three coats for full opacity, but they were an easy three coats.
Revive to Thrive
‘Revive to Thrive’ is a beautiful “soft green with yellow undertones.” This is a very pale light green that is almost so light it’s white. I love shades like this for the summer. It is another three coater, but is an easy three coater.
Good Impressions
‘Good Impressions’ is one of my faves from this line. It’s a beautiful jade green. I was sure it would be a dupe for Essie ‘Caught in the Rain.’ Check out my video to see how they compare. This is another easy two coater that is a must have.
Blessed, Never Stressed
‘Blessed, Never Stressed’ is a white. I don’t have much else to say about this one. It’s an easy three coater pure white.
Putting Myself First
‘Putting Myself First’ is another fave from this line. This is a “soft blue with red undertones,” so it can lean a tad purple in some lighting. It was opaque in 2-3 coats and is pure perfection!
Back to Love
‘Back to Love’ is the perfect “mannequin hands” polish. It’s a “sandy beige with red undertones” that was opaque in two easy coats.
Playing in Paradise
Last, but not least, is this gorgeous “violet with magenta undertones.” ‘Playing in paradise’ will “transport you to the vacation of your dreams.” This beauty is an easy two coater. I absolutely love this shade of purple.
Final Thoughts?
I am definitely a fan of the new Essie Plant-Based ‘Love by Essie’ line. The formula on every single one of these polishes is so good! They apply so smoothly and self level nicely. I can’t wait to see what other releases they do for this line.
