The new Essie Light & Fairy Collection is a five piece collection of polishes that are now available for purchase at Target (affiliate link) only in the U.S. It was previously available overseas as the 2023 Midsummer Collection (it was a six piece collection there). This Target exclusive collection is “inspired by the magic of midsummer nights with a nod to folktale fairies,” per the Target website. There are 5 creme polishes with beautiful formulas. Kiss & Spell
‘Kiss & Spell’ is a “white based light blue with red undertones.” This polish is a 2-3 coater depending on how long your nails are. It does have a bit of a thin formula. You can actually see some flooding of the polish on my ring finger here. Curious how this one compares to other purple leaning blues? Check out my video for comparisons.
Note to Elf
‘Note to Elf’ a “muted mauve pink with blue undertones.” This is the most perfect muted mauve polish that I own. It’s so pretty on the nails and has a wonderful formula. I highly recommend picking this beauty up if you’re a fan of pinks!
Light & Fairy
‘Light & Fairy’ is a “muted mustard yellow” nail polish. It was a pretty easy 2 – 3 coater. I’m not sure I love this shade against my skin tone, but if you’re a big mustard yellow fan, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.
Toad You So
‘Toad You So’ is a “deep mossy green with yellow undertones.” This polish was also a very easy two coater. I’m a big fan of this green. I would say it’s probably my favorite yellow toned green that I own.
Charmed & Dangerous
‘Charmed & Dangerous is a “deep warm berry purple with red undertones.” This polish was a super easy two coater that went on like butta!! It’s gorgeous. Essie does shades like this so well. I definitely recommend picking this one up.
Final Thoughts
So, what are your thoughts on the new Essie “Light & Fairy” Collection? First of all, I’m so glad that at least 5 of the 6 polishes were released here in the U.S. It makes me sad when collections aren’t released to everyone. I just want everyone to have the opportunity to get all of the polishes. Lol. As far as my thoughts on the polishes, these are all absolutely gorgeous polishes with the same great Essie formula we have all grown to love!
