Who else is ready for summer?!? After the collections Essie has been releasing, I sure am ready for something bright and fun!! When I first saw the online photos of the Essie Summer 2021 Collection, I was quite disappointed. I was at least hopeful that it would be better than the Essie Spring Collection. I first did a skittle mani with a few of these colors. I didn’t love it. As a result, I was so unmotivated to even swatch the polishes. However, if you saw my video, you know that the swatches, and possibly the tulip fields, changed my mind.Â
Tangerine Tease
Well, hello there gorgeous vibrant orange!! This 2 coater has a great formula and is the perfect bright orange for summertime!! I had to match this shade to the tulips since I couldn’t find a match in my collection. You can check out my comparisons to other oranges in my video above.
Juicy Details
I’ve got all of the juicy details on this blue. It stains, although it’s 100 percent worth it if you wear a base coat. I promise. There were quite a few blues this was similar to, but no exact dupes. Check out the video for my comparisons!
Pucker Up
“Pucker Up” is an ‘electric pink with a pearl finish.’ This is my least favorite pearl finish Essie has come out with. Ok, maybe I’m being too harsh. I am actually. It’s a beautiful pink, but most of us already have beautiful pinks. I compared it to some other pink shimmers, but didn’t really find an exact dupe. Maybe you need it? You tell me…what are your thoughts?
Feelin’ Just Lime
You ALL know how I feel about some green polishes…they look like the puke emoji; however, I really love this one!! For some reason, I feel like it just looks better on my skin tone. It’s a beautiful “lime green” with a killer formula. I have comparisons of this to “Come on Clover,” “On the Roadie,” “Mojito Madness” and a few more in my YouTube review.
Zest has Yet to Come
Let’s follow the yellow brick road to the yellow and gold!! I’m a HUGE fan of this yellow for Summer and for Fall!! It’s bright enough to be perfect for Summer, yet muted enough for Fall! I compared this to “Hay There,” “You Know the Espadrilles” and a few other yellows from newer collections.
Get Your Grove On
A beautiful bronze was unexpected for the Summer Collection, but I’m loving it. This shines “like the top of the Chrysler Building,” as they say in the movie ‘Annie.’ Sidenote…I was a total fan of the old movie, Annie (released in 1982). That was the first VCR movie I ever watched, and I’m pretty sure I hit rewind over 1,000 times. Lol.
Anyhow…this polish is absolutely stunning, and has an amazing formula. I compared this to ‘Leggy Legend’ and ‘Can’t Stop her in Copper.’ No dupes here.
Final Thoughts?
I certainly am much more of a fan of the Essie Summer 2021 Collection than I was initially. My favorite is “Zest has Yet to Come,” but I also really like the green and blue.
