Hey friends!!! Happy Sunday!!! Today, I have the Essie Summer 2020 Collection plus comparisons!!! If you watched my YouTube video, you know I’m obsessed with this collection. Read on for more!! Hope you enjoy!!
Souq up the Sun
‘Souq up the Sun’ is a beautiful “creamy and radiant coral” polish. This is a stunner, and one of my faves from the collection. I did two coats here, so it has a great formula. It’s a must have.
Below, I compared this polish to ‘Check in to Check Out,’ ‘Peach Side Babe,’ and ‘Tart Deco.’ As you can see, no dupes here. ‘Souq…’ is much more orange, while the other three lean more peachy/coral.Â
Bustling Bazaar
‘Bustling Bazaar’ is the namesake of the collection, and is a “dramatic, dusty cyan blue.” I did two easy coats here, and this polish is absolutely stunning!!
I had many of you ask me how this compares to ‘Viva Antigua,’ and you can see below that ‘Viva…’ is slightly more blue with shimmer, while ‘Bustling…’ has more green tones in it. ‘Garden Variety’ is much more blue,’ while ‘Naughty Nautical’ is darker. No dupes here!!
Spice it Up
‘Spice it Up’ is a “bold, burnt red” polish that is opaque in 2 coats. I love the warm tones in this red, and the formula is so good!!
As far as comparisons go, I do not have a lot of warm red polishes, so I had to dig into some of my Essie Expressie polishes. As you can see below, I compared ‘Seize the Minute’ and ‘Hustle n Bustle’ from the Expressie collection, but no dupes there. ‘Forever Yummy’ was more cool toned, so I have no dupes in my collection for ‘Spice it Up.’
Worth the Tassle
‘Worth the Tassle’ is a “bright and playful purple,” and I love it!! This is 2 coats. Absolutely stunning.
As you can see below, I compared this polish to ‘Play Date,’ which is more pink toned, ‘Shades On,’ which is much darker, and ‘What’s the Stitch,’ which is more blue toned and lighter. I totally love seeing how all of the polishes differ when compared next to each other!
Mosaic on Down
I love this polish!! ‘Mosaic on Down’ is an “enchanting gold laced with ultra-fine glitter.” The ultra fine glitter in this polish definitely sets it apart from other gold polishes I own.
As you can see below, ‘Reflection Perfection’ is more of a metallic without the ultra fine glitter, while ‘Getting Groovy’ is much more yellow toned with fine glitter. ‘Semi Precious Tones’ is a lighter holographic polish, so no dupes here!!
Kaf-tan
‘Kaf-tan’ is definitely a different color of polish for a summer collection, but it is beautiful nonetheless. I will probably be wearing this much more in the fall. It is a “warm earthy nude.” I did 2 coats here. Wonderful formula.
I compared this polish to ‘Don’t Hate, Curate,’ which was more yellow/orange toned, ‘Saffr-On the Move,’ and ‘On the Bright Cider’ which were much more similar. I wouldn’t say they are dupes, but they are probably close enough that you don’t need all 3…unless you want them. 🙂
Final Thoughts?
The Essie Summer 2020 Collection is an absolute must have. Even though 3 of the polishes aren’t necessarily “summer colors,” I would still get them to wear in the fall. They are the perfect fall colors. If you watched my video, you saw my top polishes, and I absolutely LOVE them!! All of these polishes are currently available at my Amazon Affiliate store, or feel free to search them and buy them on your own.
Do you all have any other polishes that you think may be close comparisons? If so, let me know so I can compare them. Otherwise, stay tuned for a review and comparisons to the polishes from the ‘Feelin’ Poppy’ Collection!
