Today I am going to be reviewing a rather unique Spring Collection, the Essie Spring 2021 Collection. When I first saw photos of these polishes, I thougt it was a mistake because they look a lot like a Fall Collection as opposed to a Spring Collection. There are 6 polishes in the collection. 3 of them are cream polishes, while 3 of them are shimmer/tone on tone pearl finishes.
Check out my YouTube review of the Essie Spring 2021 Collection and Dial it Up Collection below!
Cacti on the Prize
‘Cacti on the Prize’ is a “muted neutral green with yellow undertones.” I love this polish. This is the most pastel-y color of the Spring Collection, and was opaque in 2 coats.
You Know the Espadrille
I need this polish in my life for Fall!! It is so good!! ‘You Know the Espadrille’ is a “mustard yellow with warm undertones,” and is a 2 – 3 coater. This polish is exactly what I wished ‘Fall for NYC’ was! I love ‘Fall for NYC,’ but it was described as a mustard yellow despite being an orange polish.
Retreat Yourself
‘Retreat Yourself’ is another gorgeous polish for Fall! It’s a “muted rose with refined tone on tone pearl.” ‘Retreat Yourself’ has a great formula and is opaque in 2 coats. I compared it to ‘Let it Glow,’ ‘Home Grown,’ and ‘Reach New Heights’ in my video.
Infinity Cool
‘Infinity Cool’ is an absolutely beautiful “deep true navy blue cream” that is almost a one coat wonder. This sure is the perfect Fall Collection (lol), because I can see myself wearing this a lot in the Fall!! I compared this to ‘Booties on Broadway,’ ‘Bobbing for Baubles,’ and ‘After School Boy Blazer’ in the video review.
Light as Linen
ANOTHER gorgeous Fall polish!! ‘Light as Linen’ is a “milky brown with refined red pearl.” This is a 2 coater. I compared this polish to ‘Sunny Daze,’ ‘Teacup Half Full,’ and ‘Cargo Cameo’ in the video.
Get Oasis
‘Get Oasis’ is a “fresh airy white pearl with a hint of warmth.” I did 3 coats for the swatch picture, and I really love the color of this polish. I had some problems with the formula, so make sure you apply this in very thin coats.
Final Thoughts?
Honestly, this is the most boring Essie Spring Collection I have ever seen. This makes an absolutely amazing Fall Collection, but Spring…not so much. Where are our light and fun pastels that we all crave after a cold, long winter? Bring us the pastels, Essie!!
