Happy Tuesday, friends!! Hope you’re all doing well!! Today I’m sharing some Essie Originals Remixed Collection Comparisons! Check out my previous post here for a review of the collection!! Let’s get into the comparisons!!
Like a Rebel
‘Like a Rebel’ is a “neutral mauve nail polish with an electrifying gold pearl.” When I first swatched this, I immediately thought of ‘A Touch of Sugar’ because it seemed very pink. In this photo however, the gold tones are really brought out. It’s much more pink in real life, but not quite as pink as ‘A Touch of Sugar.’ ‘Birthday Girl’ was much more sheer with shimmer than ‘Like a Rebel.’ I threw ‘Lady Like’ in here because ‘Like a Rebel’ is the remixed version of it, but it is definitely not a dupe. It’s a remix! Lol!
Wicked Fierce
I would say these polishes were the closest comparisons out of all of them, but still no dupes here. ‘Ready to Boa’ and ‘Sable Collar’ look really close in the photo, but in real life, ‘Ready’ had a lighter tone to it, and ‘Sable’ was a little more plum! All beautiful polishes!!
Satin Slip
‘Satin Slip’ is a sheer, rose toned polish that is opaque in 3 coats. It’s the remixed version of ‘Angora Cardi,’ but much softer and lighter…like a satin slip! ‘Mrs. Always Right’ has much more of a berry tone to it. I would say that ‘Trend & Snap’ is the shimmery sister of ‘Satin Slip.’
Below Zero
‘Below Zero’ is the remixed version of ‘Smokin’ Hot,’ but as you can see is much lighter and has more shimmer. The polish in my collection that was closest to ‘Below Zero’ was ‘For the Twill of It,’ but only in certain lighting. ‘For the Twill…’ has a green hue in some lighting, whereas ‘Below Zero’ has more of a gray tone in some lighting. ‘Dressed to the Nineties’ was way off…clearly. Lol!
Berry Nice
Definitely no dupes here. You can definitely see the red tones in ‘Berry Nice’ here. The other pink shimmers I own were much more pink. The original version of ‘Berry Nice,’ ‘Berry Naughty,’ is much darker as you can see here.
Ballet Sneakers
This was the comparison I was most excited to see. When I first swatched ‘Ballet Sneakers,’ I was sure I had a dupe for it. Nope. I have a ton of pinks, and couldn’t fine ONE. Let me know if you can think of any!
Final Thoughts?
