FRIENDS!!!! How are you?!? Talk about Essie keeping us on our toes with new collections!! Lol!! Today I’ll be sharing swatches and comparisons to polishes from the Essie ‘Let it Ripple’ Collection! This is a collection of 6 stunning summery shimmers! Check out my post on the ‘Sunny Business’ Collection if you’re curious about other new releases! Let’s get into the swatches!!
Let it Ripple
Let’s start out with the namesake of the collection! ‘Let it Ripple’ is a stunning blue shimmer. This took quite a few coats to reach full opacity. Pictured here is 4 coats.
I was sure that ‘Let it Ripple’ was a dupe for ‘Keep Calm’ from the first Mercury in Retrograde Collection, but it wasn’t. ‘Keep Calm’ has more purple in it, and is darker. Both are stunning polishes.
Earn Your Tidal
Initially, I was not super excited about this brown shimmer, but when I saw that the shimmer was a stunning blue shimmer, I fell in love. ‘Earn Your Tidal’ is opaque in 2 – 3 coats.
Once again, I was pretty sure that I would find a ‘Mercury in Retrograde’ dupe for this polish, but not so much. ‘…It’s Mercury’ was darker, while ‘You’re a Gem’ from the Essie Gorgeous Geodes Collection is clearly more of a holo polish!!
Tide of your Life
Oh my goodness, this polish is stunning!! ‘Tide of your Life’ is a beautiful teal shimmer! I did 2 coats here, and I’m obsessed with this color!
At first, I had no idea what to compare this polish to. I initially thought of Essie ‘Night Owl,’ but my bottle of it has become so thick! Then, I thought of ‘Trophy Wife.’ I think swatching ‘Tide of your Life’ next to ‘Trophy Wife’ gives you all a pretty good idea of the color. I also compared it next to some blues in the next comparison.
Get on Board
WOW!!!! This polish is SOOOOO GOOOD!!!!! ‘Get on Board’ is an absolute must have blue shimmer!! Opaque in 2 coats and perfect!
No dupes here for sure, so I’m just going to say you need this polish!! That’s all.
Wetsuited Up
Another beauty!! I HAD to capture this one in the sun because it is so amazing when the sunlight hits it!! You can definitely see the stunning blue shimmer here!!
As far as comparisons go, you can see here that there are no dupes for ‘Wetsuited Up.’ I was actually surprised how many pink shimmers and foils I had!!
Good Vibrations
Love, love, love this pink!! ‘Good Vibrations’ is opaque in 2 coats and is a must have!!
I was sure ‘Get a Psy-kick out of It’ was a dupe for ‘Good Vibrations,’ but you can see the difference above. Again, no dupes!!
Final Thoughts?
The Essie ‘Let it Ripple’ Collection is a must have for summer. All of the shimmers are so fun, and the formulas are amazing for the most part. I didn’t love that ‘Let it Ripple’ needed 4 coats to be opaque, but it’s still stunning. If you’re curious about where to purchase this collection, I talk a bit about that in my video at the beginning of the post.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!! Stay tuned for a video on Essie Fall coming soon!!
