SOOOO excited to share with you one of my absolute fave Essie collections ever released!! This is the Flying Solo Collection, and the polish colors are absolutely gorgeous!! There are nine polishes in this collection, and they are a perfect mix of cream and pearl finishes! This collection was sent to me compliments of Essie. They always send a card with the collections that describes the colors and what the collection is all about. The card for this collection says:
It’s time to embark on a solo adventure! Pack your bags and check your luggage at the gate. The world is at your fingertips with the new Essie Flying Solo Collection. Inspired by stunning midair flight views – think an early morning sunrise or sunset at dusk – this palette of nine ethereal hues contains the perfect mix of cream and pearl finishes.
I love the creativity behind the collections that Essie releases! That was one of the reasons I was initially drawn to the brand. That, and I love the bottles with the white tops. It’s such a perfect, clean design. Now, on to the reason you’re here – the polishes.
YOU DO BLUE
‘You Do Blue’ is the color that initially drew me to this collection! It’s described as an “iridescent periwinkle,’ and that iridescence is absolutely stunningly beautiful! This polish has a pink shimmer that is difficult to see on the nail in this photo, but it really is visible on the nail in real life. I had quite a few requests for comparisons on this one. The comparisons are currently up on my Instagram, but I will be posting them on my blog soon too.
CHECK YOUR BAGGAGE
Next up in this lovely collection is ‘Check Your Baggage,’ a “creamy bright yellow.” This is 3 coats plus my fave topcoat, Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat. This polish has a slight orange tone to it compared to other Essie yellows. I did compare this to ‘Hay There’ and ‘Avant-garment’ on my Instagram, but will post on here as well.
CHECK IN TO CHECK OUT
This polish is the perfect summery orange. It’s called ‘Check In to Check Out,’ and is described as a “milky coral.” This is 2 coats plus topcoat. I compared this one to Essie ‘Tart Deco’ and ‘Exhibit A-line’ on my Instagram, so take a look.
REACH NEW HEIGHTS
‘Reach New Heights’ is a polish that I don’t think meshes well with my skintone. I’m not sure what it is, but I always feel self conscious wearing these “golden peach” polishes. This is 3 thin coats plus topcoat. I think I probably have a few polishes to compare this to, so stay tuned!
FLYING SOLO
‘Flying Solo’ is the namesake of the collection, and is absolutely beautiful!! This is such a rich color! It’s described as a “creamy pink,” but leans a little coral. It will look so pretty in the summer with a tan. Be prepared for some paddleboarding pics with this on my toes! I compared this one to Essie ‘Lounge Lover’ and ‘Pin Me Pink,’ so I’ll share that comparison soon!
FREE TO ROAM
Almost every single one of these polishes makes me say “wow.” This one is no exception! ‘Free to Roam’ is a stunning pastel pink. You may think, I already have Essie ‘Fiji.’ I don’t need this. You totally do though. The formula on this polish is so good. This is 2-3 coats plus topcoat. I compared this polish to 6 different Essie polishes on my Instagram, and none of them compared to ‘Free to Roam.’ It’s a must have!
WITHOUT RESERVATIONS
Yet another gorgeous polish! This is ‘Without Reservations,’ a “shimmery plum.” Again, great formula. This is 2 thin coats plus topcoat. The two Essie polishes I compared this one to are ‘Forever Family’ from the Gel Couture line, and ‘Jamaica Me Crazy.’ No dupes, just a lot of shimmery goodness!
IN PLANE VIEW
Next up is Essie ‘In Plane View,’ a perfect deep teal. Essie does these colors so well. They are almost always one coat wonders. When I initially saw this polish, I was sure it would be an exact dupe to both ‘Satin Sister’ and/or ‘On Your Mistletoes.’ Surprisingly, they are all pretty different. I’ll share my comparison here soon.
ONE WAY FOR ONE
I am literally in awe over this polish! This is ‘One Way for One,’ and even the description sounds amazing! It’s described as a “blue based pink with gold frosted pearl.” Hello? Count me in!! I’ll take like 200 bottles of this! It’s clearly absolutely beautiful, and I own nothing else quite like it. It’s a must have for sure!!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Ok, so I get pretty excited over nail polish anyways, but I was over the moon about this collection! The only polish I wasn’t a huge fan of was ‘Reach New Heights,’ but I can still see myself wearing it. My absolute fave was ‘One Way for One,’ followed closely by ‘You Do Blue.’ The other polishes weren’t far behind though. It’s safe to say that the entire Essie Flying Solo Collection is a must have!!
