Hey, Friends! Hope you are all doing well! Today, I have some more Essie Expressie comparisons for you! YouTube review of these 6 polishes will be up this weekend. Let’s get into the comparisons!
Throw it On
The first comparison is to Essie Expressie ‘Throw it On,’ a beautiful “soft lilac purple.” This is such a soft purple that it was hard to find anything super close. ‘Wire-less is More’ is probably the closest, but it has that gorgeous shimmer in it that sets it apart. The other two polishes, ‘Ciao Effect’ and ‘Just the Way You Arctic’ are just a tad darker, and have more blue tones in them. You can see on my thumb that I swatched ‘It-Pearl,’ but it was way lighter than any of the other polishes. No dupes here.
Get a Mauve On
Next up, we have another beautiful purple, but this one is ‘Get a Mauve On,’ and is a “smokey purple.” I LOVE this polish, but I was pretty sure I had a dupe for it. I thought it would be much closer to ‘Smokin’ Hot,’ but I was WAY off on that one! Lol! I’d say the closest I had was ‘Warm & Toasty Turtleneck’ from the Winter 2013 Collection, so many of you may not have that one. ‘Merino Cool’ is another smokey purple, but it leans a little more gray, so no exact dupes here.
No Time for Local
‘No Time for Local’ is a “muted grey” that leans a little more green. I was unsure of how this would compare to other polishes, but found a few that were somewhat similar. ‘Power Clutch’ leans a little more dark green, while ‘Exposed’ has more yellow tones in it. ‘Fall in Line’ from the Fall 2014 Collection is much lighter, so no dupes here!
Mic Drop-it-Low
I was so excited to get ‘Mic Drop-it-Low’ and swatch it! Love this polish! It was difficult to find anything close to this one, but I came up with these 3 other polishes. The primary difference is the glitter in ‘Mic Drop-it-Low.’ It has more ‘glitter’ in it than ‘Forever Family’ and ‘Jamaica Me Crazy,’ which are shimmers. ‘City Slickers’ is from the Concrete Glitter Collection so it is much different texture wise. Again, no dupes.
Crop Top & Roll
‘Crop Top & Roll’ is a “soft pink beige” that is stunning. I was most interested to see how this compared to ‘Topless & Barefoot,’ but it definitely is darker and leans a little more peachy. ‘Spin the Bottle’ was probably the closest polish, but the formula is much more sheer. ‘High Class Affair’ has much more of a brighter peach tone.
Buns Up
Ok, so this is a long comparison. Last night before I went to bed, I remembered I had ‘Buttoned & Buffed,’ and I had to include it in the comparison for ‘Buns Up’ and ‘Crop Top & Roll.’ Polish is basically always on my mind. Normal, right? Lol. Anyways, ‘Buttoned & Buffed’ is probably the closest polished to ‘Buns Up,’ but maybe a teeny tiny bit lighter. You can see with the other polishes, ‘Buns Up’ is a much darker shade. I also wanted to see how ‘Crop Top & Roll’ and ‘Buns Up’ compared to each other, so you can see the result in the first photo.
Do you all have any other polishes that you think may be dupes for these six Essie Expressie polishes? Let me know in the comments! You can also check out my previous Essie Expressie Comparisons here! Stay tuned for my YouTube video this weekend reviewing these 6 polishes!
