Happy Sunday, friends!! If you haven’t had a chance to check out my new YouTube video on the Essie Expressie rose toned polishes, check it out below! If you’ve already watched it, just scroll on down for the comparisons! You can also check out the swatches from my previous blog post. Today, I’m comparing previous Essie polishes to ‘Second Hand, First Love,’ ‘Party Mix & Match,’ and ‘Checked In.’
Party Mix & Match
‘Party Mix & Match’ is a “flesh toned nude pink” polish. This looks a lot more red than pink on me. I did two coats here, but it definitely is a one coater. I was sure this would be a dupe for something from the Essie Rocky Rose Collection, but not so much. ‘Bed Rock & Roll’ looked like it may be similar, but it was a much darker red, so it isn’t pictured here. ‘Rocky Rose’ had much more of an orange tone to it, and ‘Clothing Optional’ was more brown as you can see above. ‘Mrs. Always Right’ was much brighter and more red. No dupes here!
Second Hand, First Love
‘Second Hand, First Love’ is a “dusty rose pink” polish. As you can see, I was waaaay off in thinking that it was similar to ‘Lady Like’ or ‘Princess Charming.’ I also compared it to ‘Fun in the Gondola,’ but didn’t take a photo because ‘Fun…’ was much more pink. ‘Eternal Optimist’ is actually very, very close to this polish, but a little darker in real life. You could totally justify having both if you’re super into these colors!
Checked In
‘Checked In’ is a “nude pink” polish. This is two coats, and as mentioned in my YouTube video, the shimmer in the bottle is not visible on the nail. No dupes here. ‘Sorrento Yourself’ is close, so if you missed out on that polish, I definitely recommend getting ‘Checked In!’ ‘Suit & Tied’ is darker with more of an orangey tone, while ‘Perfect Mate’ is a brighter orange polish. All gorgeous shades!
Final Thoughts
Hope these comparisons were helpful! All three of these polishes from the Essie Expressie line are beautiful and have great formulas. I compared the polishes to each other in my video if you’re interested in seeing how they look next to each other. I also have an affiliate link where you can purchase these polishes if you’re interested, or feel free to opt to buy them by searching on your own if you prefer to not use affiliate links.
Are there any other polishes that you have that you think may be dupes to these? How about any polishes that may be a dupe to ‘Trend & Snap’ mentioned in the video? Let me know in the comments, and have a great day! XOXO
