Today, I’m reviewing the new and gorgeous Essie Hostess with the Mostess Collection! This is a 6 piece Collection that is a CVS exclusive. I know, I’m definitely not a fan of collections that are exclusive to certain stores either. This collection was so hard to find that I had to have my brother ship this to me from the midwest! Fortunately, these are now available on CVS.com, so be sure to grab the polishes you want while you can! Let’s get to the video and/or swatches!
Buzz-worthy Bash
‘Buzz-worthy Bash’ is a pretty “marigolden yellow” with a great formula. I compared this orangey yellow to other orange polishes such as Essie ‘Kaf-tan’ and ‘Fall for NYC.’ Check out the video above to see live application and comparisons.
Blooming Friendships
Who doesn’t love a “light sky blue” nail polish? This is one of my fave colors to wear on my nails. ‘Blooming Friendships’ is a little less mint than ‘Mint Candy Apple’ and a little lighter than ‘Flight of Fantasy.’ It’s an absolute beauty, but you may already have some similar polishes in your collection.
Hostess with the Mostess
The namesake of the collection! ‘Hostess with the Mostess’ is a pretty peachy neutral that applies like butter. When I first saw this, I was sure it was a dupe for ‘Set in Sandstone,’ so I compared those two. I also compared this one to Essie ‘You’re a Catch’ and ‘Come Out to Clay’ as well as a few other peachy polishes.
In Good Taste
One of my new fave taupe polishes! ‘In Good Taste’ is a beautiful “taupey neutral” that has a great formula. When I first saw this one, I immediately thought of Essie ‘Sand Tropez,’ but this was a different tone than ‘Sand Tropez.’
Centerpiece of Attention
This polish is so hard to describe. Is it a manilla envelope/folder color? Lol. The CVS website actually calls ‘Centerpiece of Attention’ a “midtone neutral with yellow undertones.” Not the most descriptive description. Either way, it is definitely a unique color, and I had nothing similar to it.
Rose to the Occasion
Lastly, we have this beautiful “watermelon pink with blue undertones.” She’s a beaut!! It was really hard to capture the true color of this one because it’s red. I definitely recommend picking it up, and think you will love it!
So, what are your thoughts on the Essie Hostess with the Mostess Collection? Is it a collection you think you can pass on, or are there a few that pique your interest?
