Today, I’m reviewing the new Essie Swoon in the Lagoon Collection. I purchased this collection from Ulta, but it is also available at Amazon. I’m hopeful that Beyond Polish (Affiliate Link) will get this collection as well. This is a 9 piece collection of cream polishes and one shimmer. Keep reading for swatch photos, or watch my video below for live swatches and comparisons.
Boatloads of Love
‘Boatloads of Love’ is an “off-white with refined blue pearls and a shimmer finish.” This is a 3 coater that I compared to quite a few off-whites and whites in my video. I really tried to photograph the blue shimmer, but it is not very visible in real life, or in photos unfortunately. I do feel that this is a great off-white polish though!
Day Drift Away
‘Day Drift Away’ is a stunning “soft pink with neutral undertones” that will look good on almost any skin tone. I feel like it blends in with my skin tone a little more in the photo than in real life, so keep that in mind. This is a 2-3 coater, and one of my faves from the collection.
Natural Connection
‘Natural Connection’ is a khaki cream polish. This is a 2 coater that applies like butter. I compared this one to many greens, including ‘Can Dew Attitude’ and ‘Win Me Over’ by Essie.
All Oar Nothing
‘All Oar Nothing’ is a “neutral yellow with red undertones.” It leans a little more orange than yellow, and will be fun to wear as a transition color between seasons. This is opaque in two coats.
Row with the Flow
‘Row with the Flow’ seems more like a fall color to me, but I guess a few others from this collection do as well. This is a “warm brown with red undertones” with a great formula. It is opaque in two coats.
Ripple Reflect
‘Ripple Reflect’ is one of my faves!! This polish is a stunning cornflower blue that applies like butter!! It’s almost a one coat wonder, but I did two coats for the swatch photo.
Swoon in the Lagoon
I’m absolutely adoring bright pinks right now, and this one is no exception. ‘Swoon in the Lagoon’ is a vibrant fuchsia that I was sure was an exact dupe for Essie Flowerista. See how it compares in my video. This is another two coater that applies perfectly.
Frilly Lillies
‘Frilly Lillies’ is a “muted mid-tone orange with coral undertones.” The photo here is showing this polish a little less vibrant than it actually is. It’s really difficult to photograph shades like this accurately. This polish is actually much brighter. So much so that I actually thought it would be a dupe for Essie Souq up the Sun. You can see how it compared in my video. This was another easy two coater.
Willows in the Wind
My least fave from this collection because, well…GREEN! Lol! This is another puke green polish that I’m not a fan of. I love cooler tone greens, not this shade of green. ‘Willows in the Wind’ applies very nicely, just not my fave tone of green.
So, what are your thoughts on the Essie Swoon in the Lagoon Collection? I can’t wait to hear what you think of these beauties. If you’re looking for some more Winter polishes, check out my review on the OPI Celebration Collection here. Stay tuned for more polish fun!!
