Hey friends!! Today, I have a review of the Essie Valentine’s Day 2021 Collection! I’m so excited about the bottles this year, or should I say bottle lids? If you missed out on the Valentine’s Day Collections from past years, you can check out the Valentine’s Day 2020 Collection here.
There are 6 polishes in the 2021 collection. Five of the polishes are pearl finishes, while one of them is a creme. They’re all gorgeous. Now, let’s get into the polishes!
Tug at the Harpstrings
‘Tug at the Harpstrings’ is one coat wonder that is described as a “muted earthy red with yellow undertones.” This is a beautiful red that I compared to ‘Adrenaline Brush’ from the Fall 2020 Collection, ‘With the Band’ and ‘Spice it Up’ from the Summer 2020 Collection. I also compared it to ‘#essielove’ from a previous Valentine’s Day Collection.
Cupid’s Beau
Next up, we have ‘Cupid’s Beau,’ a “passionate coral flecked with silver pearl shimmer.” This is a beautiful 2 coater that I have no dupes for. I did compare this to ‘Feelin’ Poppy’ from the Essie Midsummer Collection in my YouTube video.
Gilded Goddess
‘Gilded Godess’ is a 1-2 coater. I did 2 coats in the swatch photo. This polish is a dusty rose, and I compared it to OPI ‘This Shade is Ornamental’ and ‘Snowfalling for You’ from the Shine Bright Collection. I also compared this one to Essie ‘Pin Me Pink,’ ‘Talk Sweet to Me’ and ‘Into the A-Bliss.’
Glow and Arrow
Next up is the absolutely beautiful and stunningly gorgeous ‘Glow and Arrow.’ Can you tell I like this one? Lol. ‘Glow and Arrow’ is sheer on the first few coats, but builds up nicely on that third coat. All three coats are absolutely worth it and easy to apply. I compared this polish to the following Essie polishes: Crush & Blush, Kissed by Mist, Go Ginza, Ruffle your Petals and UV Got Me Faded.
Heart of Gold
Well, hello, beautiful one coat wonder. ‘Heart of Gold’ is a must have “taupe rose gold with silver pearl.” I was sure this was a dupe for ‘Mosaic on Down,’ but not so much!
Love is in the Air
Last, but not least, we have ‘Love is in the Air,’ a “plum purple with warm undertones and tone on tone pearl.” This is a 2 coater, and you can see it compared to the following in my video: Mic Drop it Low, Without Reservations and Unwrap Me.
