Happy Friday, friends!! Today, I have some Olive & June Fall 2020 comparisons to share with you! If you haven’t had a chance to check out my live swatch and review, you can check it out below!
Let’s get into the comparisons!
WKF
One of the most requested comparisons from you all was ‘WKF’ compared to Essie ‘Heart of the Jungle.’ As far as formulas go, both polishes are two coaters. ‘WKF’ is a “cool mossy green,” while ‘Heart of the Jungle‘ is a “creamy khaki green with yellow undertones.” You can definitely see the yellow undertones when compared to ‘WKF,’ which is much darker. Which green do you prefer?
HGC
Next up, we have my fave from the collection, ‘HGC,’ which is a “creamy toasted neutral.” It is on the sheer side, so I immediately thought it may be similar to Essie ‘Sheer Luck’ from the #essielove Moments Collection. When I looked up the description of ‘Sheer Luck,’ it described the polish as a “sheer pink.” My polish is definitely not a pink. It’s more of an off white sheer. Anybody else?
I did 3 coats for both polishes above, and you can see that ‘HGC’ is much more opaque than ‘Sheer Luck.’ Do you have a fave here?
JO
Here we have ‘JO,’ a beautiful “sandy apricot.” I was definitely sure I had a dupe for this polish, but not so much. Essie ‘Spin the Bottle’ is very similar, but has a more opaque formula. ‘Set in Sandstone’ from the Rocky Rose Collection has a much darker peach tone, and is also more opaque.
MG
‘MG’ is a “desert inspired terracotta” that is opaque in 2 coats. The closest polish I have to ‘MG’ is ‘Suit & Tied,’ though it is much more rosey toned. I also compared the bottles of polishes from the Rocky Rose Collection to ‘MG,’ but they were either too brown or too burnt orange. It seems as though this polish would definitely be easy to find a dupe for, but it was so hard. I compared several bottles to it, but nothing compares! (Cue 1980s song “Nothing Compares to YOU…)
JJ
Another fave of mine from this collection is ‘JJ,’ a “cozy cinnamon brown.” Again, no dupes. You can see above that ‘High Energy; Low Stress’ is a tad darker, while ‘Sorrento Yourself’ is more mauve. The polishes I thought would be most similar were either too brown or too pink/mauve. I also compared the following bottles: Clothing Optional, Playing Koi, Funfair Festive, Bed Rock n Roll, Cliff Hanger and Rocky Rose. No dupes!
LD
‘LD’ is an absolutely gorgeous “rose hued neutral.” This instantly reminded me of ‘Satin Slip’ from the Essie Originals Remixed Collection. It is very, very similar; however, ‘Satin Slip’ is much more sheer than ‘LD.’ I thought ‘Mrs. Always Right’ may be a little closer, but it’s actually more red.
The above comparison was also highly requested by you all. The swatch that I shared online looked very similar to ‘Angora Cardi.’ It was a swatch photo taken in the shade, so it appeared much darker, but you can see here that they are different shades!
Hope the Olive & June Fall 2020 comparisons were helpful!! Do you prefer when I show the shade that most closely resembles the polish (so it’s not so overwhelming), or would you rather see a bunch of comparisons? Let me know. Sometimes I start bringing out so many polishes that may compare, but end up only comparing bottles so I don’t overwhelm you all!!
Have a great weekend! Stay tuned for my YouTube video this weekend! I’m announcing an exciting giveaway!!!
