Holy velvety matte goodness!!! Introducing the Essie “Game Theory” limited edition collection. This is a collection of 6 polishes in a rich, luxurious shade range. All 6 polishes have a “soft matte formula with a low-lit pearl effect that gives nails the look of luxurious plush velvet.” Read on for more information and a review of each of the polishes!!
Going All In
“Going All In” is a beautiful “violet pink polish. This polish is absolutely STUNNING!! Pictured here is 2 coats, no topcoat. I don’t have any other pinks like this in my collections. Such a pretty, velvety pink! A definite must have!
Call Your Bluff
This next polish, “Call Your Bluff” is a “muted sandy beige.” “Call Your Bluff” is pictured here with 2 coats, no topcoat. I am loving this pretty nude! I feel like this is a nude that anyone can wear!
Ace of Shades
OMG!!!! To DIE FOR!! This polish is what I call “VAMPTASTIC!” This is “Ace of Shades,” a beautiful “burgundy red.” This is 2 coats, no topcoat. Velvety red goodness!!
Wild Card
The next polish is a gorgeous “sapphire blue” polish called “Wild Card.” This is another 2 coater, no topcoat. I love how this polish has a “lit from within” glow!! Such a fun and unique blue polish!!
Game Theory
Another gorgeous burgundy. This is “Game Theory,” the namesake of the collection. This is actually described as a “red plum” matte. This is 2 coats, no topcoat, and is an absolute must have!
Hold ’em Tight
Wow! Such a pretty matte purple!! This is 2 coats of “Hold ’em Tight,” a “bright grape purple with a matte finish.” What more could you ask for in a polish?
You can probably already tell I’m obsessed with this collection! I love the look of matte nails, but I feel like they chip a little faster. That was not the case with these. They did not chip any sooner that a regular formula polish would. The formula of these is seriously like butter. They also look great with a shiny topcoat. See below for a list of my fave to least fave in the collection. I primarily chose the reds and pink first because I’m a fan of reds and pinks in general. The last three polishes are just as good, but I will probably wear them less frequently.
- Ace of Shades
- Game Theory
- Going All In
- Wild Card
- Call Your Bluff
- Hold ’em Tight
*This collection was sent to me compliments of Essie.
